Cisco was preparing to launch the Flip Video camera into a crowded consumer electronics field in the middle of the most severe recession in memory. Even worse, they’d set an incredibly aggressive goal of selling close to one million cameras during the holiday season.
Here’s what we did
Flip Video is about one thing: making the camera portable and simple enough to let everyone shoot and share their own videos. And that’s just what we did, building our digital campaign around dozens of user-generated clips. Banner ads played a video showing users performing tricks, playing with their kids or otherwise having a great time before finally revealing that this moment came courtesy of the pocket-sized Flip camera.
And here’s what happened
Our campaign helped Flip not only exceed the client’s one-million-unit sales goal, but more than double their market share in the month of December, outselling Sony, JVC, Kodak and Canon combined.
